Tan Ribbon Photosynthetic Gorgonian Soft Coral
Tan Ribbon Photosynthetic Gorgonian, Pterogorgia anceps, is a branching soft coral known for its long, narrow, ribbon-like branches, upright growth, and fine extended polyps. This photosynthetic gorgonian adds vertical shape, natural movement, and a sea fan-like look to established reef aquariums. Its tan to bronze branches create a more natural reef display while still offering the hardy, light-loving care style that makes photosynthetic gorgonians popular with reef hobbyists.
Care Guide: Pterogorgia anceps does best in moderate to higher lighting with moderate to strong, indirect water flow. Consistent flow helps keep the ribbon-like branches clean, promotes polyp extension, and prevents detritus or nuisance algae from settling on the tissue. Place it where the branches can sway gently without being blasted directly. Maintain stable salinity, temperature, alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium, and keep nutrients under control. This gorgonian is photosynthetic, but it may benefit from occasional broadcast feeding with fine coral foods, phytoplankton, or other small suspended foods in a mature reef aquarium.
